Starting Weight, Measurements and Photos
Well, here they are…my starting weight, measurements and “before” pictures.
Start Date: 08-03-2009
Stats
Starting Weight: 190 lbs.
Bodyfat: 26.0%
Body Fat Mass: 49.4 lbs.
Lean Body Mass: 140.6 lbs.
Measurements:
Neck: 15.5
Shoulders: 47.5
Biceps: 13.75
Chest: 41.5
Waist: 37.5
Thigh: 23.0
Calf: 16.0
Let me tell you…it was a lot harder to post these pictures than I thought. I didn’t really feel that “exposed” until I saw them on my screen.
I have to admit…I’m pretty embarassed.
- I didn’t realize how big my gut had gotten. I should have spent more time playing basketball instead of eating it. That profile shot just disgusts me!
- You can really see how those “love handles” stick out in the front and back shots. If it wasn’t for my shorts squeezing them in, they’d be nearly as wide as my waist…sort of like those “Weeble Wobble” toys I had as a child.
- I have two nice rolls of back fat…one where the base of neck meets the top of my back and the other is just a continuation of my belly-love handles-back fat “circle of death” around my entire midsection.
- Did you check out that headline in the paper I’m holding? It says “Obesity taking toll on U.S. heath care.” Call it ironic, karma, a sick joke or just coincidence…it just added a little more fuel to the fire that day.

Whew…I’m sure glad that’s over with! I’m looking forward to posting a new set of pictures after 4 weeks on the program.
